Vadodara: A team of architects appointed by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for its proposed one-lakh-capacity stadium visited Vadodara on Thursday to study the design and infrastructure of the international-standard BCA Stadium at Kotambi.
Vadodara, long known for producing outstanding cricketers, is now gaining recognition for world-class sports infrastructure as well. The BCA Stadium in Kotambi has emerged as a benchmark for modern stadium design in India and beyond.
A four-member team of architects inspected the stadium as part of the MCA’s upcoming mega project in Mumbai. The team closely examined the architectural planning and infrastructural features of the venue.
Architect Amit Chaubal, a member of the MCA project team, said, “We are impressed with the design, planning, and operational strategy of the BCA Stadium. We closely inspected the 360-degree viewing experience, pitch maintenance systems, presidential and corporate boxes, and media facilities. The exposed concrete design and natural ventilation make the structure environmentally friendly. Additionally, the efficient planning of lighting, power backup, and emergency exits offers valuable insights that can be directly applied to future large-scale projects.”
On the occasion, SSA team member Bijal Parikh, BCA CEO Snehal Parikh, and former cricketer Atul Bedade were also present.
BCA president Pranav Amin said the stadium’s international-standard design has attracted attention from major sporting bodies. “Following a recent visit by a delegation in connection with the Commonwealth Games, the MCA has now sent a team of architects to study the BCA Stadium for its dream project. The infrastructure here reflects the success of our vision and hard work,” he said. DeshGujarat
