36 sq km Agri Land to Be Denotified in Ahmedabad
April 17, 2026
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has reportedly approved a proposal allowing the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) to denotify around 36 sq km of land currently classified under the agricultural zone on the outskirts of the city.
The decision is likely to be implemented after the conclusion of the local body elections. Large parts of Ognaj, Shilaj, Ghuma, Bhadaj, Lambha, Laxmipura, Kathwada, Kamod, Vanjar, Fatehwadi and Vastral presently fall under AUDA’s agricultural zoning in its development plan.
As these areas are witnessing rapid development, AUDA has decided to denotify the agricultural zone to promote planned urban growth. DeshGujarat
