Ban on entry and exit of horses in Bavla taluka of Gujarat

Gujarat government has prohibited entry of horses to Bavla taluka of Ahmedabad district due to spread of Glanders disease which is caused by bacteria. Horse within Bavla are not permitted to leave the limits of Bavla taluka.
The order has been issued under The Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Disease in Animals Act – 2009″ section 20.
Glaner has been found in Chiyada and Zekda village of Bavla taluka.
Those who violate this order will face legal action, a statement issued by the State government said.
