Cambya Saphhire hotel sealed in Gandhinagar, D-Mart sealed in Rajkot

Service Tax department has sealed Cambay hotel and resort in capital Gandhinagar today due to non-payment of Rs 99.33 crore service tax.
The resort is owned by former IAS officer Sanjay Gupta who is in jail in connection with Metro rail scam.
Once a happening place, Cambay Sapphire was in worse condition for last some time, especially after metro scam related case against owner Sanjay Gupta.
Some of the recent reviews on tripadvisor are titled as: Not a hotel but a joke, not value for money, worst experience ever, nighmare, a horrible experience in Gandhinagar, never ever stay in this hotel…
Cambay Saphhire has been asked to vacate the premises in prescribed time limit, after which if pending amount remain unpaid, the property will be auctioned.
In another incident, D-Mart super store on Gondal road in Rajkot has also been sealed for Rs 2.67 crore pending tax. If tax is not paid in a week, the property will be auctioned.
