UP CM Yogi Adityanath visits Statue of Unity, becomes first CM of other state to do so

Kevadia: UP CM Yogi Adityanath today become the first CM of another state to visit the Statue of Unity situated on Sadhu Bet island near Kevadia in Narmada district of central Gujarat.

The 182 meter high statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, which has become the tallest statue in the world leaving behind the Springfield Buddha statue of153 m height in China, was unveiled by PM Narendra Modi on October 31.

Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani had gone to Lucknow last month to personally invite Yogi to come to see the colossal statue.

The other ministers of Rupani cabinet had also visited other states to meet and invite other CMs.

Yogi arrived here today to become the first CM of another state to visit the Statue of Unity after its unveiling.

He was accompanied by Rupani, senior officials of UP and Gujarat.

Yogi first went to the valley of flowers which is to be developed in 12 km stretch along the Narmada bank. He also visited other projects related to the statue and the Sardar Sarovar dam, the life-line of water supply in Gujarat.

Notably, in the Shreshtha Bharat project associated with the statue, all the states including UP is to participate.

President Ramnath Kovind would visit the statue on December 15.
