PM Modi to kickstart projects worth over Rs. 7,710 crore in Rajkot, Morbi, and other districts

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate and lay foundation stone for various development works worth ₹7,710 crore in Rajkot, Morbi, and other districts on Wednesday, 19 October 2022. In Rajkot, development works worth ₹4,309 crore will be dedicated including the Amul plant, while Morbi will get developmental works worth ₹2,738 crore. Moreover, other districts will collectively receive development works worth ₹663 crore. In the past one year, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has taken several important decisions enabling a conducive environment for industries and building a reliable infrastructure facilitating the growth of various sectors. Attributed to these decisions, the developmental graph of Gujarat has witnessed an upward trajectory.
Developmental Works in Rajkot
Developmental works to be launched in Rajkot are: Light House Project; Hospital Chowk Bridge; Ramapir Chowk Bridge; Nana Mava Bridge; Science Museum; 4-lane Parapipaliya Road with Major Bridge; 6-lane DP road from RMC Boundary (Jamnagar Road) to AIIMS. These developmental works have been constructed at a total cost of ₹336 crore.
Besides, the foundation stone of various works will be carried out including: widening of Jetpur-Gondal-Rajkot to a 6-lane road; Amul plant at Gadhka; GIDC (Nagalpar, Khirsara-2, Pipardi, and other GIDCs); passenger facilities in railways; remodeling water supply scheme of Gondal and Machu-1; sports complex in Rajkot; fire station on Nirmala road; widening of Bhimnagar bridge to Mota Mauva Bridge; apron and security works on both sides of Bhadar river; repair and security works on Kundech check dam and construction of Vadla check dam; and other works on Moviya-Shivrajgarh road and Khambhala-Vajdi-Vejagam road. Foundation stone for a total work of worth ₹5,762 crore will be carried out.
Announcement of other developments
Various development works worth ₹649 crore related to panchayat, cooperation, health, and roads including railway will be announced in Rajkot. These include, Rajkot-Jamnagar station redevelopment; Makansar Gati Shakti terminal will be announced. Moreover, technology hub centre at Gondal; construction of various roads in rural areas of Rajkot; widening of Gomta-Nilakha-Bhadar Dam Road; widening of Lilkha-Devla-Sultanpur Road; reconstruction of bridge over river near Rangpar; extension of chilling and automation of dairy plant in Rajkot; and 66 KV substations at Visaman and Bharudi. Apart from that, Bhoomipujan of Dhebar Hospital will be performed.
Foundation stone and announcement of development works in Morbi worth ₹2,738 crore
Foundation stone for a Medical College; Ceramic Park in Morbi’s Jambudiya; widening of Morbi-Halvad Road and Morbi-Jetpur Road to 4 lanes; construction of new district court building, government quarters, officers’ residence; and construction of new court building in Tankara will be laid. Apart from that, the construction of a railway over bridge on Wankaner-Navlakhi railway line will be announced.
Urban Housing Conclave in Rajkot from 19-21 October
Under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi, construction technologies from six different countries have been selected to provide affordable, strong, and quality housing to the beneficiaries in Rajkot. The Urban Housing Conclave will be held from October 19-21 at Shastri Maidan in Rajkot which will involve technology providers from around the world, urban development ministers of several states, secretaries and officials, contractors, educational institutions, architects, local artisans, and other professionals. During this conclave, information about technology related to construction will be shared along with discussions. Locals will also be able to attend this exhibition.
