Gujarat governor addresses the State assembly as Budget session begins

Gandhinagar: Governor of Gujarat in his address to the State Assembly at the start of the budget session today said that Power, Water, Education, Agriculture, and Health are ‘Panch Shakti’ that are in priority for the Government. He said the last two decades of Gujarat witnessed priority, policy, and performance. He said Gujarat is getting the benefits of the double-engine government for the last nine years. Gujarat has become the model state for the entire nation, he added.
He said – 87 railway stations in Gujarat including the one in Ahmedabad shall be developed under the ‘Amrut Bharat Station Yojana’ of the Central Government. He said Gujarat will have a Vande Metro train connecting small towns of the State to big cities. The Governor said that the Government of India has allocated Rs. 8,332 crores for the development of railways in the State in its 2023-24 budget.
The Governor noted that Gujarat is going to be the host State for as many as 13 meetings of G20. Three meetings are already held while the others will be held in Surat, Ekta Nagar, and other places this year.
He said Rs. 12,534.26 crore amount has been deposited in the accounts of 63.49 lakh farmers so far in the State under PM Kisan Sanman Nidhi. 3.47 crore members of 71 lakh families in Gujarat are getting food under PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana in Gujarat.
-MBBS seats in Gujarat are up from 5700 last year to 6350 this year, while Post Graduate seats are up from 1951 to 2065 now in a year.
-1.67 crore beneficiaries are registered under PM Jan Arogya Yojana – Mukhyamantri Amrutam Yojana for Ayushyaman card by December 2022 to take benefit of treatment in 2,811 hospitals under the scheme.
-18,187 villages across 33 districts and 247 talukas are declared 100 percent Har Ghar Jal covered.
-The Gujarat government has not increased the price of electricity in the last 16 years for farmers. Gujarat is generating 19,333 MW of renewable power.
-Gujarat has stood first when it comes to offering employment through employment offices in the year 2021. As per the survey of MOSPI, the unemployment rate in Gujarat is 2.2% against 4.2% nationally.
-For the first time, all posts of Taluka Vikas Adhikari (TDO) are 100 percent filled up.
-7 crore pages of four lakh files in 33 districts are digitized in the last 7 months.
-Solar rooftops are erected to generate 5,728 KW power at 1484 gram panchayat offices, 37 taluka offices, and 6 district panchayat offices.
-As many as 32,792 units are registered on Gujarat STate Aprentis Portal.
-4,337 kw solar rooftops are erected at various pilgrim places which would save 63.32 lakh power units annually saving Rs. 316.60 lakh.
