PM Modi to attend Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi is to visit his home state of Gujarat on April 17 to attend the inaugural function of a two-week-long event Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam in Somnath.
According to government spokesperson Rushikesh Patel, the purpose of the event is to celebrate the longstanding cultural ties between Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Patel announced that various special programs have been scheduled between April 17th and 30th at Somnath, Dwarka, and other important locations, with the event modelled on the Kashi Sangam.
The Saurashtra Tamil community, which consists of about 12 lakh people living in Tamil Nadu, will be coming to Gujarat through special trains. Patel also stated that starting from April 14th, one special train carrying almost 300 invited guests will depart from Madurai every day. DeshGujarat
