Gujarat completes over 50 per cent rain of average monsoon season

Gandhinagar: Gujarat has received 50.41% of the normal average monsoon season rainfall so far this year. As of 6 a.m. today, the total rainfall in the state amounted to 441.88 mm.

Among the districts, Kutch has experienced the highest percentage of rainfall, reaching 112.07% of the total monsoon average. On the other hand, the district with the lowest percentage of rainfall so far is Dahod, with only 25.61% of the total monsoon average.

In terms of regions, Kutch has also recorded the highest percentage of rainfall, completing 112.07% of the total monsoon average. The East Central region, on the other hand, has seen the lowest percentage of rainfall, with 36.45% completed so far. Saurashtra, North Gujarat, and South Gujarat regions have achieved 68.45%, 50.74%, and 41.44% of the average monsoon rainfall, respectively.

Among the talukas, Waghodia taluka in Vadodara district has received the lowest percentage of rainfall, at 14.26% of the total monsoon average. Conversely, Anjar taluka in Kutch has reported the highest percentage of rainfall at 190.76%.

The talukas that have received more than 100% of the average rainfall include Abdasa, Anjar, Bhuj, Gandhidham, Mundra, Santalpur, Dhoraji, Jamkandorna, Jetpur, Upleta, Jamnagar, Bhesan, Mendarda, Visavadar, and Barvala. However, the Talukas that have not been able to complete even 20% of the average monsoon rain are Waghodia, Singwad, Amod, and Hansot.

The cumulative rainfall completed in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot districts so far stands at 39.82%, 41.65%, 30.78%, and 73.27%, respectively. DeshGujarat
