August 18, 2023
Gandhinagar: Like other States, even Gujarat will have a Police Recruitment Board. This new set-up is created by merging two existing boards – Police Sub Inspector (PSI) Recruitment Board and Lok Rakshak Bharti Board.
PSI Recruitment Board led by State DGP Vikas Sahay was responsible for recruitment of Police Sub Inspectors till now. Lok Rakshak Bharti Board led by IPS Hasmukh Patel was responsible for the process of recruitment of Lok Rakshak Dal police jawans, popularly known as LRD jawans.
The government has now merged both boards and created one single recruitment body, titled as Police Recruitment Board.
IPS Hasmukh Patel(1993 batch), Managing Director of Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation Ltd has been given additional charge of Police Bharti Board as Additional Director General of Police. Patel has successfully conducted very difficult recruitment processes in the past. His clean image, proven and trustworthy track record and excellent communication skills have helped government to sail through the difficult process of recruitments involving lakhs of young candidates.
IPS PV Rathod(2007 batch), DIG of CID(Crime) Gandhinagar has been given additional charge as DIG, Police Bharti Board.
The process for upcoming recruitments on estimated 12,000 posts of LRD and PSI will be taken up by the newly created Police Recruitment Board. DeshGujarat
