Surat: Diu will benefit from rich and high-spending Surti tourists, while Surtis will benefit with easy connectivity to yet another beach destination. Under the Udan-5.0 scheme, Indigo airlines will launch a flight connecting Surat to Diu island from October 29.

A daily flight may get a good booking in the upcoming Diwali vacation and weekends. Flight 6E 7967 will leave Diu at 14.30 hours and reach Surat at 15.30 hours.

Flight 6E 7968 will leave Surat at 15.50 hours and reach Diu at 16.40 hours. This flight will also be useful for Surtis wanting to visit Somnath and Gir sanctuary. It may benefit the number of taxis and other tourist vehicles operators based in Diu.

As of today the the fare for the one side trip from Surat to Diu or vice versa at the IndiGo’s websites is ₹2199 per person. DeshGujarat
