Ahmedabad: After senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram fainted during a prayer meeting at the Sabarmati Ashram on Tuesday and was admitted to Zydus Hospital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a personal interest in ensuring he receives the best possible medical care.
Gujarat BJP, in a press release issued on Wednesday, stated, “When senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram fell ill during the Congress national convention in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was informed of the development. Despite political differences, he acted in the spirit of hospitality and instructed that there should be no shortcomings in Chidambaram’s treatment.”
The release further mentioned that Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda was immediately contacted and asked to oversee Chidambaram’s medical care. Following this, Nadda issued instructions to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and BJP state president C.R. Paatil, directing them to ensure that Health Minister Rushikesh Patel closely monitors the treatment process.
Rushikesh Patel later visited Zydus Hospital to assess the medical arrangements and has been keeping a close watch on Chidambaram’s condition, the statement added. DeshGujarat
