Ahmedabad: In view of the upcoming TATA IPL Men’s T20 Day/Night cricket matches 2026 schedule, T20 cricket matches will be played on 04.04.2026, 17.04.2026, 20.04.2026, 26.04.2026, 30.04.2026, 03.05.2026 and 12.05.2026 at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium. Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) has decided to extend the timings of metro train services in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar on the mentioned days of day/night matches only till midnight (00:30 hrs), said a press release.

Scheduled running of metro services in Ahmedabad is from 06:20 hrs to 22:00 hrs and from Motera Stadium to Mahatma Mandir in the Gandhinagar Corridor from 07:30 hrs to 19:40 hrs. On the mentioned days of day/night cricket matches at Narendra Modi Stadium, GMRC will run metro services during extended time after 22:00 hrs as follows:

Passengers can travel only from Motera Stadium Metro Station and Sabarmati Metro Station to any operational stations on both corridors of Ahmedabad (Motera Stadium to APMC and Vastral Gam to Thaltej Gam).

In addition, to facilitate and provide hassle-free travelling to passengers, GMRC has released a special paper ticket to be used for return journey purposes on the mentioned days of IPL-T20 Day/Night cricket matches.

Salient Features pertaining to Special Paper Tickets are listed below:

1. Fare of Special Paper Ticket will be Flat ₹ 50 per person which can be used to travel from Motera Stadium and Sabarmati Metro station to any operational stations of Ahmedabad Metro on both corridors and in Gandhinagar from Motera Stadium Metro station to Mahatma Mandir Metro station during extended hours of metro operations.

2. Entry with Contactless Smart Tokens, Contactless Smart Card (GMRC Travel Card and NCMC card), QR digital tickets and QR paper tickets will also be available as usual on regular fare up to 22:00 hrs only. Any ticket (QR / Token) purchased for return journey in advance from Kiosk, Token Vending Machine, Ticket Counters, Mobile App will not be valid after 22:00 hrs.

3. After 22:00 hrs, only special paper ticket will be allowed for entry from Motera stadium and Sabarmati metro stations.

4. Special Paper Ticket can be purchased at Nirant Cross Road, Rabari Colony, Apparel Park, Kalupur, Old High Court, Thaltej, Motera, Sabarmati, Ranip, Vadaj, Jivraj Park, GNLU, Infocity, Sector-1 and Mahatma Mandir Metro Stations on that day in advance to avoid queuing at Motera while returning.
