BJP Wins All Four Rajya Sabha Seats from Gujarat Unopposed

Gandhinagar: Four candidates of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Gujarat on Thursday. The announcement came after the deadline for withdrawal of nominations expired with only four valid candidates remaining in the fray for four vacant seats.

The results of the biennial Rajya Sabha elections for four seats from Gujarat were officially announced by Returning Officer Chetan Pandya, Secretary of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. With this, for the first time in history, the main opposition Congress will not have a single Rajya Sabha member from the state, as its lone Rajya Sabha MP, Shaktisinh Gohil, is set to retire later this month.

The newly elected Rajya Sabha members from the ruling party are Jitendra Kanjhariya, Mansinh Parmar, Rajesh Shukla, and Rathwa Mukeshbhai.

The newly elected members will replace the outgoing Rajya Sabha MPs whose terms are set to end on June 21, 2026. These include Rambhai Mokaria, Narhari Amin, Ramilaben Bara, and Shaktisinh Gohil. DeshGujarat
