4.8 intensity earthquake jolt Kutch and around in Gujarat, no damage reported

A slightly higher than moderate tremor of earthquake with intensity of 4.8 on the Richter scale was felt in and around Kutch district in Gujarat in the wee hours today.
The tremor was felt at 4.03 am and its epicenter was at 22 km East South East from Bhachau. Just 3 minutes after this another tremor of 3.5 intensity with epicenter 23 km East South East of Bhachau was also felt.
The first tremor was felt clearly at as far away as Morbi and Una and some of the people who felt it during their sleep and the early morning risers ran out of their houses. However there were no reports of casualty or damage to property so far.
According to the Institute of Seismological Research here a tremor of 3.1 intensity was first felt at 1216 pm post midnight and was centered at 10 km north north east from Bhachau. Three other quite feeble tremors of intensities less than 2 also followed before the 4.8 intensity jolt.
Since January this year altogether 73 tremors have been felt (65 in March alone) in Gujarat but the strongest one was of 4.8 intensity (felt today). The other two with over 4 intensity (4.1) were felt on January 16 (centered close to Khavda) and on February 25 (centered close to Bhachau).
