NIA conducts searches in 5 states including Gujarat in Jaish-e-Mohammed radicalisation case

Ahmedabad: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched searches at 19 locations across Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat this morning. The operation is part of an ongoing investigation into radicalisation activities linked to the Pakistan-based, banned terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed. It is learned that in Gujarat, searches are being conducted in Sanand.

The searches were based on information gathered from interrogating an arrested suspect and analysing evidence against individuals whose properties had been searched previously in October. The NIA revealed that the suspects were involved in radicalising JeM affiliates, distributing terrorist propaganda, and recruiting youth into the Jamaat organization, which is influenced by JeM.

This operation follows earlier actions in which Sheikh Sultan Salah Uddin Ayubi, also known as Ayubi, was arrested after raids at 26 locations in Assam, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Jammu and Kashmir. The previous searches led to several detentions for questioning and uncovered significant evidence, including documents, electronic devices, pamphlets, and magazines. DeshGujarat
