AMC Junior Clerk, Middle man held for bribery by Gujarat ACB

Ahmedabad: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has nabbed two persons including a Junior Clerk of Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) for bribery.

According to ACB, a complainant is into hotel business for which he was in need of professional tax certificate. He had applied for same at South West zone office of AMC. The accused Junior Clerk Himanshu Sathwara told applicant to meet a middleman Noman Abdul Kadir Jilani Pathan who later demanded Rs. 2,000 bribe for issuance of certificate.
As a complainant was not willing to pay a bribe, he contacted ACB, following which a trap was arranged and the accused were held. DeshGujarat
