Family of Four Rescued from Fire in Surat Apartment

Surat: A family of four was dramatically rescued after a fire broke out early this morning in their third-floor apartment in the Jahangirabad area of Surat.
The incident occurred around 3:26 am in flat number 302 of Building B at Vaishnodevi Blue Bills Apartment, where 48-year-old Vinodbhai Patel lives with his wife and two sons. The fire, believed to have originated in the kitchen — possibly due to a short circuit in the fridge — quickly filled the house with smoke, forcing the family to flee to the gallery for safety.
Upon receiving the distress call, Surat Fire Control dispatched teams from Morabhagal, Palanpur, and Adajan fire stations. Considering the seriousness, a hydraulic platform was also sent from Adajan. Firefighters reached the scene, positioned a 35-foot ladder at the rear of the building, and safely rescued Vinodbhai Patel, his wife Mayaben (47), and their sons Nandan (26) and Kashyap (22).
Fire Officer Dhaval Mohite explained that heavy smoke made entry from the front impossible, so the family was rescued from the rear gallery before the team began firefighting operations. The fire, which severely damaged the kitchen and furniture in the hall, was brought under control within an hour and a half.
After the rescue, all four family members were given first aid and checked by emergency medical staff. Though shaken by the incident, they escaped unharmed, and no casualties were reported. DeshGujarat
