Upto 4.21 inches rains in South Gujarat in 24 hours including at Vapi, Navsari, Surat, Bharuch cities

Gandhinagar: Several talukas in Gujarat, predominantly in the southern districts, experienced significant rainfall in the 24-hour period ending at 6:00 AM on September 28, 2025. Kaprada in Valsad district recorded the highest rainfall, measuring an impressive 4.21 inches, as per the data released by the State Emergency Operation Center. Among the cities where it rained were Valsad (2.13 inches), Vapi 1.54, Navsari 0.55, Surat 0.24, Ankleshwar 0.24, Dahod 0.24 and Bharuch 0.16 inch.
The Dangs district also witnessed a substantial downpour, with the Dang-Ahwa taluka receiving 3.78 inches of rain. Other talukas in the Dangs including Vaghai and Subir recorded 2.76 inches and 2.52 inches respectively.
A total of eleven talukas across the state registered rainfall exceeding one inch during this period. Valsad district was particularly wet, with Umbergaon (2.48 inches), Pardi (2.20 inches), Valsad (2.13 inches), Vapi (1.54 inches), and Dharampur (1.26 inches) all experiencing heavy showers.
In the neighboring Navsari district, Khergam received 2.09 inches of rainfall, while Chikhli recorded 1.26 inches.
The detailed figures reveal a concentration of heavy rainfall in the South Gujarat region, with Valsad and Dangs districts bearing the brunt of the recent monsoon activity.
