Suryakiran Aerobatic Team Air Show in Rajkot; All the details here

Rajkot: The city is set to witness an impressive air show this coming Sunday, featuring the Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team performing their signature aerial maneuvers. Nine Hawk Mk132 aircraft will carry out aerobatic displays around 10 AM over Atal Sarovar on December 7, with preparations underway to accommodate a large number of spectators.

The event is expected to be similar to the spectacular air show recently held at Kevadiya Colony in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31.

Formed in 1996, the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team is Asia’s only nine-aircraft aerobatic formation and one of the few such teams globally. The squad has showcased its skills across India and internationally, with performances in countries including the UAE, Thailand, China, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar. With more than 700 air shows completed, the team proudly operates under the motto “Sarvada Sarvottam,” meaning “Always the Best.”

The Surya Kiran team is expected to perform various stunts, including diamond formations, heart-shaped patterns in the sky, and tricolor smoke trails. Pilots may also interact with spectators from their cockpits during the show.

While the aircraft were initially planned to take off from Hirasar, the schedule has been revised. The jets will now depart from Jamnagar before executing flypasts and aerobatic maneuvers over Rajkot.

Past air shows in the city, including those held at the Race Course, have drawn massive crowds. DeshGujarat
