Gandhinagar: The state government has suspended the Managing Director(MD) of Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited (UGVCL) K.S. Randhawa.
UGVCL MD K.S. Randhawa is 1992 batch IFS officer. The suspension order by the forest department stated that he is suspended for alleged malpractices practiced by him when he was on the position of MD of Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation. He had allowed the benefits of the Comprehensive Agriculture Business Policy 2016 to 2021 of the state government to some persons who applied later, instead of implementing it on the ‘first comes, first served; basis, as per the order. He allegedly cheated the government of over Rs 200 crore, it is learnt.
Recently in a drive against corruption initiated by Corporation’s politically appointed head and MLA Madhu Shrivastav, two senior officials were suspended for alleged malpractice in the same scheme. DeshGujarat
