Indian Army, NDRF and SDRF intensify rescue efforts amid torrential rains in Valsad

Valsad: Rescue and relief operations have been intensified in the rain-battered Valsad district of South Gujarat as multiple disaster response teams have been deployed to assist the local administration amid widespread flooding.

At present, three teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and five teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are carrying out rescue operations in the district. Officials said two additional NDRF teams are expected to arrive from New Delhi on Thursday evening to strengthen the ongoing efforts.

Additionally, 70 Army personnel, five rescue boats, and a 25-member fire brigade team have also been deployed to support the district administration in evacuation, rescue and relief operations as heavy rainfall continues to affect several parts of Valsad.
