AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava booked for endangering public safety in Detox India Blast incident
December 11, 2024
Bharuch: Over a week after four workers were killed in a blast at Detox India Pvt Ltd, a private waste treatment company, on December 3, the Ankleshwar GIDC police in Gujarat registered an FIR on Tuesday against Chaitar Vasava, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Dediapada. The FIR accuses Vasava of obstructing the police and jeopardizing public safety during the incident.
The complaint alleges that Vasava, along with others, disregarded police and expert warnings that the area was hazardous and off-limits after the explosion. They reportedly urged the victims’ relatives and protesters to enter the premises, which had not yet been cleared of danger.
According to the FIR, Vasava, along with Niranjan Vasava and a group of eight to ten people, went to Detox India’s main gate on December 3. Despite being warned of the dangers, they encouraged the crowd to enter the premises, obstructed the police, and interfered with emergency response efforts. Vasava is accused of endangering the lives of those who accompanied him to the site and threatening to shut down the company.
The AAP MLA has been booked under Sections 221, 224, 329(3), 125, 126(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. This is the second FIR filed against the AAP MLA in Gujarat in two days. On Monday, Rajpardi police also registered a case against Vasava for holding a padayatra without permission. DeshGujarat
