April 14, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday caught a railway employee red-handed while accepting a bribe at Kalupur Railway Station in the city. The accused, Shivkumar Gayaprasad Yadav, a Chief Commercial Clerk (Class-3) posted at the station’s booking window, was apprehended during a decoy trap.
According to ACB officials, the operation was initiated following credible inputs that certain railway staff were allegedly demanding illegal gratification ranging from ₹10 to ₹500 per ticket from passengers travelling to other states, in addition to the official fare. Acting on the tip-off, the ACB laid a trap with the help of a decoy.
During the operation, Yadav allegedly demanded ₹100 as a bribe over and above the legitimate ticket price. Upon receiving the amount, he was immediately caught by the ACB team. The entire bribe amount of ₹100 was recovered from his possession on the spot.
Further investigation into the case is underway to ascertain whether more individuals are involved in similar corrupt practices at the station. DeshGujarat
