Hindu mandirs are converted into churches in tribal pockets of Gujarat. This was told to Gujarat Police Range I.G. Hasmukh Patel in a Lok Darbar held at Dharampur in South Gujarat.
During the Lok Darbar session of Inspector General, BJP leader Samirbhai complained that Christian conversion movement is going on on massive scale in interior villages in Dharampur and Kaprada talukas of tribal dominated areas of south Gujarat. He said that in hilly areas, located at 20-30 km away from taluka headquarters, Hindu mandirs are demolished and replaced with Christian missionary churches.
I.G. Hasmukh Patel gave assurance that if such constructions are found taking place in forest land without permission, they will be removed.
