Ahmedabad: The Delhi unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has issued summonses to a city-based angadia firm in connection with the seizure of synthetic drugs in Rajasthan’s Sirohi district in April. This action follows coordinated raids by the CID (Crime and Railways) and the Income Tax Department on at least 12 angadia (courier) firms in Ahmedabad and Surat just days ago.

The NCB’s Jodhpur Zonal Unit seized 12.6 kg of mephedrone, 60.70 kg of liquid mephedrone, and 52.4 kg of pseudoephedrine from a clandestine laboratory on agricultural land in Lotiwada village in Sirohi on April 27. Five individuals were apprehended in connection with this case under the NDPS Act, 1985.

Inspector Yogendra Singh of NCB Delhi has issued a notice directing the firm owner to appear for a personal deposition, accompanied by the particulars of money transferred to Manohar Lal Ainani during the preceding two financial years.

The firm is also required to present complete books of account, including cash books, for the period from April 1, 2023, until the present date.

Simultaneous raids were conducted on the offices of the angadia firm P M Enterprise at Iskcon Arcade on CG Road on May 9, on suspicion of their involvement in illicit financial activities. DeshGujarat
