Four found dead in mysterious circumstances in Jahangirpura, Surat

Surat: Four individuals, including a couple, were found dead this morning in the Jahangirpura area of Surat. The incident took place in flat number 504 on the fifth floor of E building at Rajhans Residency.

Upon entry, an elderly man was found lying on a mattress on the floor. Two women were found on the sofa in front of him, while another woman was found lying face down after vomiting. The circumstances surrounding the incident are mysterious, and it remains unclear whether the four died by suicide or from food poisoning. The true cause will only be determined following police investigations.

The deceased have been identified as Jashuben Keshavbhai Vadher (58), Shantuben Vadher (55), Gauben Heerabhai Mewada (55), and Hirabhai Danbhai Mewada (60).

DCP Rakesh Barot stated that Jashuben owned the house where the incident occurred. The three women were sisters, while Hirabhai was the husband of Gauben. They had come to inquire about Jashuben’s son, who had recently undergone surgery. After having dinner at Jashuben’s son’s house, they retired to Jashuben’s residence. Due to the vomiting observed at the scene, an investigation is underway to determine whether it was caused by food poisoning or ingestion of some toxic gas. Since a gas geyser was running in the house, authorities are also probing whether it played a role. Further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report. Jashuben worked as a peon and was due to retire next year.

ACP R.P. Jhala mentioned, “At present, we have no information about the cause of death for all of them. The FSL team has been called in to determine whether it was food poisoning or suicide. The deceased’s son, Mukeshbhai, also lives nearby. Videography of the entire house has been conducted as part of the investigation. DeshGujarat
