VMC Inspects 30 Food Outlets, Imposes Rs 3.63 Lakh Penalty for Violations

Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) food safety team inspected 30 food establishments across the city on Wednesday as part of a drive to check compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. The civic body imposed penalties totalling Rs 3.63 lakh on establishments found violating the prescribed norms.

The inspections were conducted across several areas, including Makarpura, Gorwa, Vasna, Waghodia Road, Manjalpur, Gotri, Harni, Sama, Ajwa Road, Tarsali, Fatehgunj, Karelibaug, Akota and Chhani. Food samples were also collected from various outlets for further examination.

Among the establishments that faced action were Kaka Ni Pavbhaji, Jay Ambe Sev Usal, Devkrupa, Chai Ni Lari and Mahakali Sev Usal in Subhanpura, along with Jagdish Farsan in Amitnagar.

According to officials, individual penalties ranged from Rs 3,000 to Rs 25,000. Shri Mayatirth Seva Foods Pvt Ltd was fined Rs 25,000, while Jay Ambe Traders was penalised Rs 10,000. Bajrang Fast Food and several other food establishments also faced penalties during the inspection drive.
