Gujarat Raises Income Limit for Unreserved Youth Seeking Overseas Education Loans

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has increased the annual family income limit for youth from unreserved categories seeking education loans for higher studies abroad. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced the decision on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day.

The annual family income ceiling under the overseas education loan scheme of the Gujarat Unreserved Educational and Economic Development Corporation (GUEEDC) has been raised from ₹6 lakh to ₹10 lakh.

The decision is aimed at enabling more students from unreserved categories to access financial assistance for pursuing higher education overseas. The state government said financial constraints should not prevent young people from fulfilling their aspirations of studying abroad.

With the revised income limit, more needy youth from unreserved communities will now be eligible to benefit from the loan scheme and pursue higher studies abroad. DeshGujarat
