GSRTC to operate 2,400 extra buses for Diwali, plan over 8,000 additional trips

Surat: The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) will operate around 2,400 additional buses from November 4 to November 7 to manage the expected passenger rush during the Diwali festival. More than 8,000 additional trips have been planned, primarily to facilitate travel from Surat to Saurashtra, North Gujarat and other parts of the state.

The additional services will operate alongside regular buses and are expected to provide relief to thousands of passengers travelling home to celebrate Diwali with their families.

Special arrangements have been made for passengers travelling from Surat to Bhavnagar, Amreli, Junagadh and Rajkot districts in Saurashtra. The additional services will also cater to passengers heading to Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Mehsana, Patan, Palanpur and the Panchmahal region.

The arrangements are particularly significant for diamond workers from Saurashtra who live and work in Surat and travel to their hometowns during the festive season.

Passengers can book tickets for the additional services through the advance and current online booking facilities available on the corporation’s official website, www.gsrtc.in. Booking and travel-related information is also available through GSRTC’s divisional and depot offices.

For assistance and information about bus services, passengers can contact the corporation’s 24-hour toll-free helpline at 1800 233 666666. DeshGujarat
