Surat: A case of religious conversion and sexual assault has come to light in Mandvi with the arrest of a government school principal for allegedly forcing a woman to convert to Christianity with the help of his son.
Police said the woman had come into contact with Chaudhary’s son, Dr Ankit Chaudhary, who allegedly abused her for nearly two years after luring her with promises of marriage. A case had earlier been registered against Ankit.
During the probe, the woman also alleged that Ramji Chaudhary and others coerced her into converting to Christianity. Further investigation confirmed the forced conversion claim, leading to his arrest.
According to the police, the accused, Ramji Chaudhary, principal of Pipalvada Primary School, was taken into custody after an investigation found the woman’s allegations to be true.
Police are also examining the role of a charitable organisation linked to the accused to ascertain whether similar activities took place in the past. DeshGujarat
