SpiceJet launches Ahmedabad – Sharjah direct flight
February 06, 2026
Ahmedabad: Travel between Gujarat and the United Arab Emirates has received a boost with the launch of a new direct flight service from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) in Ahmedabad to Sharjah, operated by SpiceJet.
Ahead of the inaugural departure on Thursday, a ceremonial lamp-lighting and cake-cutting event was held at the airport, where the first passenger was presented with a boarding pass. Officials from Immigration, CISF, SpiceJet, and the airport authority were present at the ceremony.
The new international service will operate five days a week—Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Flight SG 095 will depart Ahmedabad at 8:50 am and arrive in Sharjah at 11:00 am, while the return flight SG 096 will leave Sharjah at 12:00 pm and land in Ahmedabad at 4:30 pm.
The introductory one-way fare is expected to range between ₹9,000 and ₹15,000, depending on demand, season, and booking time. The direct connectivity is likely to save travel time and make commuting easier for Gujaratis residing in the UAE, as well as for traders and tourists. The route is also expected to strengthen business ties, tourism, and family travel between the two regions. DeshGujarat
