Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Government on Wednesday evening issued a notification announcing key transfers and appointments in the General Administration Department and related offices.

The government notification stated that Hareet Shukla, IAS (RR:GJ:1999), who was serving as Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Gujarat and Ex-Officio Principal Secretary to Government, General Administration Department (Election), has been transferred and appointed as Principal Secretary to Government, General Administration Department (ART & NRI), Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar.

He will continue to hold additional charge as Principal Secretary to Government, Ports & Transport Department, Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, and as Director General of Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA), Ahmedabad, until further orders.

Meanwhile, as per the earlier notification issued by the Election Commission of India, Sandip Janardanpant Sagale, IAS (RR:GJ:2007), who was serving as Director General, Sports Authority of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, has been appointed as the new Chief Electoral Officer of Gujarat. He will also serve as Ex-Officio Secretary to Government, General Administration Department (Election), succeeding Hareet Shukla.

In another decision, I.R. Vala, GAS (Selection Scale), Secretary, Sports Authority of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, has been assigned additional charge of the post of Director General, Sports Authority of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, until further orders, following the transfer of Sagale. DeshGujarat
