Gandhinagar: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has in its latest forecast bulletin on Saturday evening predicted further rains in days to come. It’s worth noting that Gujarat is going to witness a ten-night long Navratri festival starting from Monday this year. While the state is already rain soaked in last two days before Navratri, IMD has in its bulletin predicted rainfall in parts of Gujarat at least in initial part of Navratri. Following are the highlights of the latest bulletin that covers seven days period. The predictions are changeable in days to come.

Day 1 (20–21 Sept 2025)

• Forecast:

  • North Gujarat: Light to moderate rain/thundershowers at a few places (Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar).

  • South Gujarat: Rain at many places (Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli).

  • Saurashtra: Rain at a few places (Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad, Diu).

  • Kutch: Dry.

• Warning:

  • Heavy rain: Isolated places in Bharuch & Surat.

  • Thunderstorm + lightning + winds (30–40 kmph): Possible in North Gujarat, South Gujarat, Saurashtra-Kutch, Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Diu.

  • Alert: Yellow warning (Be updated).

Day 2 (21–22 Sept 2025)

• Forecast:

  • Same pattern as Day 1 (widespread South Gujarat rain, scattered elsewhere, dry in parts of Kutch).

• Warning:

  • Thunderstorm + lightning + winds (30–40 kmph): Possible in North Gujarat, South Gujarat, Saurashtra-Kutch, Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Diu.

  • Alert: Yellow warning.

Day 3 (22–23 Sept 2025)

• Forecast:

  • North Gujarat: Rain at a few places.

  • South Gujarat: Rain at a few places.

  • Saurashtra: Isolated rain.

  • Kutch: Dry.

• Warning:

  • Thunderstorm + lightning + winds (30–40 kmph): Likely in same regions as Day 2.

  • Alert: Yellow warning.

Day 4 (23–24 Sept 2025)

• Forecast:

  • North Gujarat: Isolated rain.

  • South Gujarat: Few places rain.

  • Saurashtra: Isolated rain.

  • Kutch: Dry.

• Warning: NIL (No alert).

Day 5 (24–25 Sept 2025)

• Forecast:

  • Similar to Day 4, with rain in parts of North & South Gujarat, isolated in Saurashtra, dry elsewhere.

• Warning: NIL (No alert).

Day 6 (25–26 Sept 2025)

• Forecast:

  • Isolated rain in parts of North Gujarat & Saurashtra; few places in South Gujarat. Dry elsewhere.

• Warning: NIL (No alert).

Day 7 (26–27 Sept 2025)

• Forecast:

  • North Gujarat: Isolated rain (Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod).

  • South Gujarat: Isolated rain in Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

  • Saurashtra: Isolated rain in Rajkot, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Botad, Diu.

  • Remaining districts: Dry.

• Warning: NIL (No alert).

Colour-Coded Warnings Explained

• Yellow (Watch / Be aware): Thunderstorms, lightning, winds up to 40 kmph – risk of traffic disruption, tree fall, powerline damage, waterlogging.

• Orange (Alert / Be prepared): Heavier rain with moderate flooding risk.

• Red (Warning / Take action): Severe/extreme rainfall – major flooding, infrastructure damage, threat to life.
