ACB Gujarat Nets Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital, a Class-1 Officer, in Bribery Trap

Vadnagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed a Class-1 officer in a bribery case. Dr. Harshid Laxmanbhai Patel, 50, Medical Superintendent (Class-1) at Vadnagar Civil Hospital, was caught accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000.
According to the ACB, the complainant had received a contract to provide a private vehicle at Vadnagar Civil Hospital. To process the complainant’s vehicle bill and authorize signatures in the logbook, the accused demanded a bribe.
As the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, he contacted the ACB, following which a trap was planned. During the operation, the accused engaged in a conversation with the complainant, demanded the bribe, accepted the Rs. 20,000 during the sting operation, and was caught in the act of committing the offence.
