Honda inaugurates three new Skill Enhancement Centres in Gujarat

By staff writer, Gandhinagar: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. today announced inauguration Skill Enhancement Centres in Gujarat in collaboration with Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in three cities of Rajkot, Gandhinagar and Sarkhej (Ahmedabad).

The company in its statement informs that the Skill Enhancement Centres at Govt. ITI of Rajkot (Near Aji Dam, Bhavnagar Road), Gandhinagar (Sector 15, GIDE Road, Near LDRP College Campus) and Sarkhej (Opposite Community Health Centre) are equipped with two-wheelers and service infrastructure. The centres have been developed as fully functional workshops for students giving practical training on technical aspects of two-wheelers maintenance and repair. On successful completion of training, Honda will provide recruitment opportunities to candidates at Honda manufacturing plants and dealerships.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr Pradeep Pandey, Senior Vice President – Customer Service, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said “Fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, Honda 2Wheelers India proactively supports Skill India Mission to empower Indian youth. The 2Wheeler industry is facing its biggest shift to new BS-VI emission norms. Surely the demand for skilled technical manpower will go up in near future. Keeping this as a priority, Honda is establishing Skill Enhancement Centres in key identified states across India. The inauguration of these 3 new centres in Gujarat is testimony to our commitment to upskill local youth enhance their employability.”

Inauguration of the three Honda Skill Enhancement Centres was done in presence of Shivprakash Hiremath – Regional Head, Customer Service – West, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd and senior officials of State Government and respective ITIs.
