Illegal dargah structure on the state highway demolished in Chikhli

Chikhli: Illegal Dargah structure located right on the road was demolished by the administration on the State highway in Chikhli in South Gujarat late in the night amid tight police bandobast.
The illegal dargah structure was near Referal hospital. It was blocking one lane of the four-lane road. The district police chief, Mamlatdar, Deputy Mamlatdar, DySP, Police Inspectors, Road & Building department officials were present during the operation. Ahead of this demolition on Chikhli – Vansda State highway, number of meetings were held with Muslim community leaders regarding need to remove this dargah. The operation was done late in the night amid heavy police bandobast and secrecy. The road was closed for traffic during the operation. Water canon, tear gas stock, more than 6 JCB, more than 8 tractors, 2 rollers and other machineries were deployed for the operation.
In another development, Bagladev Mandir in Thala area of Chikhli, located right on the road was also demolished, and the road was levelled. Hindus associated with the mandir had removed the shade and murtis on Thursday itself for relocation, extending cooperation with administration. DeshGujarat
