Gujarat GST Revenue sees robust 44% YoY growth in April 2026

Gandhinagar: Gujarat recorded strong growth in Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue in April 2026, according to data released by the Union Finance Ministry.

On a post-settlement basis, the state’s State GST (SGST) collection rose sharply by 44% year-on-year to ₹9,916 crore in April 2026, compared to ₹6,908 crore in April 2025.

On a pre-settlement basis, Gujarat collected ₹5,455 crore in April 2026, registering a 3% increase from ₹5,281 crore in the corresponding period last year.

At the national level, post-settlement SGST collections across states and Union Territories surged by 40%, rising to ₹1,17,496 crore in April 2026 from ₹84,152 crore a year earlier. Meanwhile, pre-settlement SGST collections grew by 3%, reaching ₹61,331 crore, compared to ₹59,372 crore in April 2025.

The highest post-settlement SGST collections in April 2026 were recorded by Maharashtra (₹22,929 crore), maintaining a dominant lead, followed by Uttar Pradesh (₹10,178 crore), Gujarat (₹9,916 crore), Karnataka (₹9,958 crore), and Tamil Nadu (₹8,413 crore).

The figures, though provisional, indicate sustained economic momentum and improved tax compliance. Gujarat’s robust post-settlement growth places it among the better-performing states in GST revenue expansion. DesHGujarat
