Ahmedabad: Following are the rainfall figures recorded within the limits of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) between 6 am and 12 noon on Thursday. The highest rainfall was recorded in the Sarkhej and Bopal wards, which received nearly 6 inches of rain. Other wards that received over 5 inches of rain during the morning hours are Jodhpur, Jodhpur Zonal, Bodakdev, Science City, Thaltej, and Sarkhej Urban Health.
Zone-wise, the South West Zone of AMC received the highest rainfall at 5.14 inches, followed by the North West Zone at 4.3 inches and the West Zone at 3.2 inches. The city-wide average rainfall stood at 2.5 inches (457.53 mm) during the period.
To facilitate the quick release of water, eleven gates of the Vasna Barrage were opened.
