Gujarat’s son, Major Rushikesh Ramani killed in Kashmir

Indian Army’s 23 Punjab Regiment Major Rushikesh Ramani was killed in a fierce gunabattle at Khurhama, near the Line of Control in Kupwara district of North Kashmir on Friday.
Major Rushikesh Ramani killed three militants before he died.
Major Rushikesh Ramani(25) was from Gujarat’s Saurashtra Patel samaj. His permanent resident is in Ahmedabad’s Thakkarbapanagar/Bapunagar area where his mother, father and sister are living. Rushikesh was unmarried.
The gunbattle in which Ramani was killed, took place when army confronted a group of heavily-armed Pakistani Jihadi militants at Gulab Post, 130 kms from Srinagar. Jihadi terrorists were attempting to sneak into the valley from Pakistan. Ramani killed three militants successfully, but later he and sepoy Jagtar Singh were killed. Subedar Kashmir Singh was wounded.
