Gujarat Government has initiated a process of establishing a new authority called Directorate of Information & Communication Technology(ICT) & E-Governance shortly. This new authority will be responsible to cater the state government’s need of information and communication technology and E-Governance.
Sources close to the development informed that the state government do not have any technical manpower which can cater the need of IT and E-Governance so all that has to be outsourced to the private agencies. They serve till the contract and thereafter the government has to face lot of problems. There are cyber security concern also. At present IWDMS, IFMS, E-Dhara, E-Gram Vishwa Gram and number of initiatives are run depending on private agencies so now the government has decided to establish the new authority which will serve all these needs.

These cadre will manage the state government’s ITC & E-Governance network. Number of computer and IT engineers will be recruited in next couple of months.
