Surat: In a shocking incident, a seven-year-old boy was attacked by a pet German Shepherd belonging to a neighbour in Rudramani Avenue Society of Parvat Patiya. The attack occurred in the presence of the dog’s owner, leaving the child with serious injuries.
According to the family of the injured boy, Rishabh, he was playing inside the society premises when the owner arrived with his pet dog for a walk. Suddenly, the German Shepherd pounced on the child and bit him on the leg. The mother of the victim alleged that the dog was deliberately provoked to attack her son. Rishabh suffered injuries on his stomach, thigh, legs, and arms, and was admitted to a nearby hospital, where he is currently under treatment but in stable condition.
The boy’s family alleged that when they confronted the dog owner about the incident, he threatened them, saying, “Go complain wherever you want, you cannot harm me. I will drag everyone to court.”
After the attack, the victim’s family approached the Puna Police Station and submitted a written application. However, it has been claimed that instead of filing an FIR, the police advised the residents to “beware of dogs.”
The incident has sparked outrage among residents, who have demanded stricter enforcement of pet ownership rules and accountability from authorities. DeshGujarat
