James Murdoch, Chairman and Chief Executive, News Corporation for Europe and Asia today paid courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar and appreciated Gujarat’s global success in the area of growth and development said Gujarat government release.

Mr.Modi acquainted Mr.Murdoch with the rich cultural heritage of Gujarat and with the pro-business approach of Gujarati people. Mr. Murdoch indicated that Gujarat will be the focal point of his company’s media strategy.

Chief Minister Modi recalled his earlier meeting with Murdoch Senior during the talk with Murdoch Jr. Modi presented his book on Climate change issue to James Murdoch. Receiving a book, James told Modi that his wife is also an environment expert-researcher.

Star India’s Chief Executive Officer Shri Udayshankar was present in the meeting.

James Murdoch later went to Ahmedabad’s Sardar Patel international cricket stadium at Motera to watch India/Australia quarter final match of ICC worldcup 2011.
