18 teams of NDRF deployed in Gujarat amid cyclone Biparjoy

Kutch: In anticipation of Cyclone Biporjoy, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed a total of 18 teams in Gujarat, with an additional team stationed in Diu.
Providing a breakdown of the deployment, an NDRF official in Gujarat revealed that Kutch has six teams, while Dwarka, Valsad, Jamnagar, Morbi, Rajkot, and Gir Somnath each have one team. These teams are well-prepared and equipped to handle any emergency situations that may arise due to the cyclone.
Furthermore, the NDRF has kept additional teams on standby in various locations, ready to be airlifted if the need arises.

As per the latest information by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), The very severe cyclonic storm “Biparjoy” is moving northeastward with a speed of 8 kmph. The storm is expected to cross the coasts of Saurashtra, Kutch, and adjoining Pakistan between Mandvi and Karachi, near Jakhu Port, around 8:30 pm (IST) on June 15. It will be a very severe cyclonic storm with maximum sustained wind speeds of 115-125 kmph, gusting up to 140 kmph. The landfall process will begin at 5:30 (IST) and continue until 11:30 pm (IST).
