EPFO ( Employee Provident Fund ) account details are now online

The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has put account details availability online from July 1. This means you can know how much amount has been deposited in your Provident Fund account online.

The EPF department has started an EPFO web portal website to provide this facility. In initial phase this facility has been started for Delhi (North), Delhi (South), Laxmi Nagar (Delhi), Gurgaon, Faridabad, Karnal and Bangalore. Within next one week, 120 more cities will be covered under this service.

According to Central Provident Fund Commissioner Shri Samrendra Chatterjee while earlier the employees had to go to EPFO office to get information about their account, now they will receive the information online through newly launched web portal where one would have to submit just a mobile number and account number to get the details of his/her account. The detail would be delivered on mobile number through SMS.

EPFO department will deliver only the detail that is readily available in its record.

The service would be a great help to about 5 crore PF subscribers in India. The EPFO plans to replace PF account number with unique identification number.

How to get the detail:

-Please click on the following link (http://www.epfindia.com/MembBal.html) to know the balance in your EPF Account upto the date, the accounts are updated, which also includes the latest approved transactions of settlement/advances/transfer-in/transfer-out, if any.

-Select the EPFO office where your account is maintained and furnish your PF Account number.

-Leave the extension field blank, in case your account does not have one.

-You will be asked to enter your name and mobile number. The given mobile number will be recorded along with the PF Account Number.

-On successful submission of above information, the details will be sent through SMS to the given mobile number.

Account balance SMS from PF department will have following structure:
EPF Balance in A/C No.
