Gau Rakshaks face attack, save cows in Surat

Surat: Gaurakshaks in South Gujarat risked their life to save bovine cattle that were being transported for slaughter. Cow vigilant Sanjay Radadia and Jay Thakar who are associated with Kamdhenu Gauraksha Trust and Vishwa Hindu Parishad received information about transportation of cows for slaughter in particular vehicle on specific route. Sanjay and Jay along with other cow vigilant stopped a tempo (number GJ-5-BV-9355) at around 2.00 am at Puna SImada Naher Road junction. Gau rakshaks were unaware that there were three cars escorting the tempo vehicles. The car of Gau Rakshaks was hit by one of escorting vehicles of butchers and stone pelting too happened for some time. Butchers however escaped the place after Gau Rakshak’s car turtled. Two gau rakshaks faced minor injury. 8 calves, 3 cows, 1 bullock – in total 12 number of cattle were rescued. Sarthana police has seized a tempo and started investigation.
