Morari Bapu as brand ambassador for awareness on whale shark

Even as over Rs34-lakh have been disbursed to fishermen as compensation for releasing 198 whale sharks back into the sea in recent time, Gujarat Government has appointed noted Ramayana narrator Morari Bapu as brand ambassador to create awareness among the fishermen about the importance of whale sharks for the environment.

Forest and Environment Minister said that while the government package is already there for fishermen for releasing whale sharks, accidentally caught with other varieties of fishes in the net, Morari Bapu’s discourses are known to have positive impact on the listeners.
