CBI court sends Amit Shah to Sabarmati Jail on Judicial Custody
Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 25 July 2010
Former Gujarat minister of state for Home Shri Amit Shah has been sent to 14-day judicial custody by Special CBI court judge Shri AY Dave. Shah was produced by the CBI at justice Dave’s residence in Maninagar area of Ahemdabad as soon as he was arrested on the steps of three-floor CBI office building in Gandhinagar earlier.
Judicial custody means, Shah will spend his next 14 days in Sabarmati jail. He will be free when his yet to be filed bail application is approved by the court sometime in future. Shah has option to go to court for cancellation of charges against him, case against him, and also for bail.
According to advocate Devang Nanavati, the CBI didn’t ask the Judge for Shah’s remand and no question was asked to Shah by the CBI. Nanavati said, this prove a point that CBI has nothing substantial against Shah.
