Same officers had brought 400 criminals alive to court:Shah
Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 25 July 2010
Gujarat minister of state for Home Shri Amit Shah today backed the officers jailed in connection with Sohrabuddin encounter case and said Gujarat is the only state where not a single case of terrorism is pending.
Shah said, “Gujarat has fought long battle against terrorism.Gujarat is the only state where not a single case of terrorism is pending. The officers against whom allegations are being made in connection with Sohrabuddin encounter have handed over at least 400 people alive and produce them to court. Such things are not noticed by media. In whole country there have been 1700 encounters, of them only selecting Gujarat’s encounters, discussing them, spreading rumors in media, inquiring them through court, and targeting political goals. For last 20 years, since 1990, Congress has not been victorious be it assembly election, local body elections, rural elections. The people of Gujarat have not accepted them. They have no other option but to practice such tactics. But I have many options, my party has many options. We will face legal fight in court and public fight on roads.”
