When homes turned into aquarium in Ahmedabad!!
Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 4 August, 2010

People in Ahmedabad’s Bage Firdaus area were surprised to see their houses turned into aquarium on Wednesday morning.
About dozen residents of this area who live on ground floor, noticed that due to heavy rain on Tuesday, not only flood water, but dozens of fishes had entered into their houses.
The fishes were about two to two and half ft long with sharp pointed parts on body. The people believed that this strange thing happened due to overflowing lake nearby.
Some people complained that flood water also contained acid, thanks to illegal discharge of chemical waste by several units in nearby industrial area.
Ahmedabad’s Maninagar underbridge was closed for traffic due to water logging.
Several areas of eastern Ahmedabad around Narol-Naroda highway, and areas of Vejalpur, Makarba, Juhapura in west Ahmedabad faced water logging and related problems due to absence of proper storm water drainage. These area are recently included in Ahmeabad Municipal Corporation jurisdiction.
